About Us

About K-Pop Pulse

K-Pop Pulse covers the business and chart side of K-pop: comebacks, streaming and sales records, tours, awards, and the industry decisions behind them. We started the site because most K-pop coverage online falls into two camps — fan-community reaction posts, or news aggregation that repeats a press release without checking it. We wanted something in between: analysis that starts from primary sources and tries to explain why something happened, not just that it did.

How We Work

Every article starts with the original source — Billboard, Luminate, IFPI, Oricon, official agency statements (HYBE, SM, YG, JYP and others), or direct quotes from artists in verified interviews — rather than repeating a number or claim we found on another blog. When a widely circulated figure turns out to be unsourced or inflated, we say so in the article instead of repeating it, even if that means a less dramatic headline.

We also try to place a single data point in context rather than reporting it in isolation: a chart position next to what actually drove it, an award next to what the category is actually judging, a streaming milestone next to what kind of streaming behavior produced it. If we can't verify a claim from a primary or clearly reliable source, we either drop it or say plainly that it's unconfirmed.

What We Cover

Album releases and chart performance, world tours and live events, industry strategy and label decisions, individual member milestones, and the business side of K-pop's international expansion. We don't cover unverified personal rumors, health claims, or allegations involving named individuals that we can't independently confirm.

Corrections

If you spot an error or an outdated figure in one of our articles, please tell us — see our Contact page. We'd rather fix a mistake than leave it up.
